CAL FIRE Green Schoolyards

ActiveSGV is collaborating with the El Monte City School District and the Trust for Public Land on the Greening El Monte Schoolyards initiative, funded in part by the CAL FIRE Urban and Community Forestry Green Schoolyards program. This project aims to transform Shirpser Elementary, Gidley Elementary, and Cortada Elementary into vibrant, green learning environments.

La Puente Mixed Use Master Plan

This initiative seeks to amend zoning laws to facilitate the development of affordable housing accessible to low- and moderate-income households and to encourage development near public transit routes, enhancing transit ridership and reducing vehicle travel.

Redesign LA

With the recent passage and imminent implementation of the Safe, Clean, Water Program (Measure W) and Safe, Clean Neighborhood Parks Program (Measure A), the County will invest millions of dollars in stormwater infrastructure and park projects that are intended to benefit underserved communities and the health of our watersheds.

The El Monte Clean Mobility Nexus Project is a collaborative effort designed to address transportation inequities and environmental challenges in El Monte.

Burke Heritage Park

The City of Alhambra is excited to introduce a new project at Burke Heritage Park and Marengo Yard, located at Marengo Avenue and Alhambra Road. This project will enhance stormwater management across 111 acres by installing a dry well, bioswale wetlands at Burke Heritage Park, and biofiltration areas in Marengo Yard.

Ana Montenegro Park

Ana Montenegro Park is set to become Baldwin Park’s newest green space, transforming a vacant lot near the Santa Fe Dam into a vibrant community hub.

GREEN SGV

The GREEN (Green, Resilient, Energy Efficient Neighborhoods) SGV Collaborative, led by Day One in partnership with ActiveSGV, Sustainable Claremont, TreePeople, GRID Alternatives, and the Council for Watershed Health, has secured a $20 million grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Clean Mobility Options Car Share

The South El Monte Electric Car Share Program, part of the Clean Mobility Options (CMO) initiative, offers a convenient and sustainable alternative to vehicle ownership. This program allows residents to access zero-emission vehicles when they need them, without the expenses of maintenance and ownership. It’s designed to reduce the community’s carbon footprint and improve air quality by providing access to clean transportation options.

Royal Oak Greening Project

Trusted Messenger Network

The Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications (OCPSC) leads California’s top community engagement and public awareness campaigns by collaborating with trusted messengers, providing funding, and creating culturally relevant tools to educate and connect with communities. The office enhances state efforts through partnerships, media campaigns, and data-driven strategies to address key priorities.

Finkbiner Park Stormwater Capture Project

The City of Glendora is planning to install a water filtration tank underneath the softball field at Finkbiner Park which will clean and restore water to Little Dalton Wash. With its installation comes an opportunity to enhance the softball field and basketball court, incorporate native plants and trees, and improve flood management.
