Ana Montenegro Park is set to become Baldwin Park’s newest green space, transforming a vacant lot near the Santa Fe Dam into a vibrant community hub. This mini-park is the first new park to be developed since the city’s incorporation in 1956, and it will offer a wide range of amenities including picnic areas, playgrounds, fitness equipment, and educational trails that link visitors to the larger San Gabriel Valley trail network.

The park is named in honor of Ana Montenegro, a trailblazing Latina leader who was the first woman elected as City Treasurer in Baldwin Park. Ana’s commitment to education and cultural advocacy will be reflected in artistic installations and educational signage that celebrate the city’s rich cultural history.

Funded by the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy and other local agencies, the park is expected to be completed by 2025. Once open, it will provide a much-needed recreational space for the Baldwin Park community, enhancing both physical health and cultural awareness.
