Free E-Bike Rentals Along the Emerald Necklace
The Emerald Necklace Mobility Hubs are weekend pop-ups along the San Gabriel River and Rio Hondo trails where visitors can borrow an electric bike at no cost. Our team is there to help you get comfortable on the bike, fit a helmet, and answer questions before you head out. No experience with e-bikes is needed. If you have never ridden one, this is a good place to start.
The Mobility Hubs are part of the GoSGV program, run in partnership with Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation.
Visit us at Santa Fe Dam
Our hub at Santa Fe Dam opens on Saturday, September 12. Come by between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM to take a ride and meet the team.
When we are there
Programming runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on these dates:
- September 12, 19, 20, 26, and 27
- October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25
- November 7, 8, 14, and 15

Where to find us
Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area
15501 E. Arrow Highway
Irwindale, CA 91706
The park charges a $15 entry fee at the kiosk. The e-bike rentals are free.
Getting to the hub from the park entrance
We set up right next to the Santa Fe Dam Nature Center, about half a mile inside the park. Look for the green Emerald Necklace Mobility Hub sign on the shipping container.
If you are driving, enter from Arrow Highway and stop at the entry kiosk. From there, follow the main park road and the signs for the Nature Center. Park in the lot by the Nature Center and look for our canopy and flags.
If you are riding or walking in, the Nature Center sits along the San Gabriel River Trail, so you can come straight to us from the trail.
How it works
Stop by the check-in table and we will walk you through it. You will show a photo ID, sign a waiver, and get a short introduction to the bike and the lock. We will hand you a printed slip with your start and end time and a phone number to call if something comes up on the ride. Rentals are ninety minutes. Your ID comes back to you when you return the bike.
Helmets are available at the hub. Bring water, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress for sun.
