How did you get started working at ActiveSGV?
When I saw the opening, I recognized ASGV from the 626 Golden Streets events I’d attended!

What do you like most about working with ActiveSGV?
I love our team and our mission. I’m proud to be contributing towards a more sustainable, equitable, and livable community. I feel lucky to be a part of such a beautiful team of people who believe in our work and really care about making a difference.
Favorite and memorable ActiveSGV experience:
Helping deliver aid to Eaton fire survivors! It was so moving to get to be a part of the healing process following the fires.
If a friend from out of town were to visit, which place in the SGV would you take them to and why?
We would start with a breakfast of za’atar and coffee or mint tea at Zephyr Mediterranean Grill & Cafe in Pasadena. Then we’d head over to Mercadito Monarca for a little artesanía shopping. Next, a historic e-biking tour down to San Gabriel by the Old Mill, San Gabriel Civic Auditorium, Mission, and Cemetery. For lunch, we would head to Blossom Market for beef galbi or queso birria tacos and agua de sandía. Then an afternoon game of pickleball at Smith Park and a snack of gulab jamun from Punjab Market, before watching the sunset on my mom’s balcony. We’d finish the day with phở dậu hũ bông cải (fried tofu & broccoli pho) at the Pho Super Bowl Alhambra.
What are you currently listening to, reading, watching, or digging?
Lately, I’ve been enjoying 80’s music and rock en español; watching “Young Sheldon” and “The Big Bang Theory”; and reading Albion’s Seed: Four British Folkways in America. I’m also really into researching my Norwegian ancestry. And my nephew just taught me to solve a Rubik's cube in under 5 minutes!
