We are thrilled to announce that Jeffrey Koji Maloney, dedicated Alhambra City Councilmember, former Mayor, and Chief Counsel for the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, is the recipient of this year's Outstanding Elected Official award. We honor Jeff for his commitment to public service and his impactful contributions to the Alhambra and community.
Since his election to the City Council in 2016, Jeff has been a driving force behind numerous initiatives that have enhanced the quality of life for Alhambra residents. He has spearheaded the development of the city's first bicycle and pedestrian safety plan, a comprehensive sustainability plan, and a historic preservation ordinance. He has also been a strong advocate for park expansion and improvements, fostered open streets events with neighboring communities, and played a key role in the creation of an upcoming state-of-the-art community center.
Jeff's influence extends beyond Alhambra. He currently serves as President of the Asian Pacific Islanders Caucus of the League of California Cities and holds board positions with several esteemed organizations, including the Go For Broke National Education Center, Clean Power Alliance, and the Japanese American National Museum.
We invite you to celebrate Jeff's accomplishments and dedication to public service at this year's Noche de las Luminarias. A very limited number of tickets remain for this special event where we will be honoring Jeff and other exceptional individuals.
