The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) stands as a pivotal regional government planning agency with a steadfast commitment to elevating the quality of life across the San Gabriel Valley. As a joint powers authority, its dynamic composition includes 31 incorporated cities, unincorporated communities in Los Angeles County Supervisorial Districts 1 and 5, as well as three integral San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water Districts—namely, San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District, Three Valleys Municipal Water District, and Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District.
While each member community possesses a distinctive identity and history, they are united by shared challenges and goals. SGVCOG has emerged as a unifying platform, enabling these communities to consolidate their resources, strategize for sustainable solutions, and collectively advocate for regional and local interests. The collaborative efforts are dedicated to enhancing the overall quality of life within the San Gabriel Valley.
At the heart of SGVCOG's mission is the pursuit of a brighter, more harmonious future for all residents in the region. Through cross-jurisdictional cooperation, innovative planning, and inclusive community engagement, SGVCOG is driving positive change, fostering resilience, and creating an environment where the diverse tapestry of the San Gabriel Valley can thrive together.
Join us on Thursday, September 21, at 6 PM for ActiveSGV's annual extravaganza and awards ceremony - "Noche de las Luminarias." We're bringing local advocates, city leaders, and honorees to celebrate our collective efforts and accomplishments in the San Gabriel Valley.
