ActiveSGV’s Bike Month 2026

Bike Month 2026 gave ActiveSGV the chance to celebrate in a whole new way, with record-breaking giveaways, major program launches, and community rides happening across the San Gabriel Valley.

One of the biggest highlights came on Sunday, May 17, when ActiveSGV distributed more than 100 free GoSGV e-bike memberships to El Monte residents in a single day, the largest e-bike membership giveaway in our organization’s history.

The giveaway was part of the El Monte Clean Mobility Nexus Program, a partnership between the City of El Monte, ActiveSGV, and Mobility Development Operations. The program expands access to clean transportation through electric buses, a free e-bike lending library, EV carshare vehicles, and public charging stations across the city.

Later in the month, ActiveSGV joined the City of El Monte and community partners for the official launch event for the El Monte Clean Mobility Nexus Program at El Monte’s Night Market. During the celebration, 10 residents also took home free commuter bikes.

Bike Month also marked the official closeout of ActiveSGV’s Easy Access program. The final community ride and pop-up events at Walnut Creek Nature Park brought together residents and participants who joined the program over the past few years. Through Easy Access, ActiveSGV provided free access to e-bikes, guided rides, and outdoor programming that helped residents explore local parks, trails, and river paths throughout the SGV.

This Bike Month highlighted how programs that make biking more affordable and accessible can help more residents get around the SGV. From free bike memberships to community rides and bike giveaways, more people are choosing to ride for everyday trips, recreation, and access to local parks, businesses, and transit connections. These programs continue helping residents save money on transportation while creating healthier and more connected communities.
